Ewald is our host. A high-class chef, trained in the best Italian and German hotels, Ewald is also an excellent coach-driver, a good rider and story-teller, who very seldom loses his temper. He is the real heart of the Saltner Edelweiss, and one who even can cut a nice figure in front of TV cameras. He is indeed a tremendous guy!

Here is Anja, the lady of the house and mother to Manuel, Kevin, Robin and Max. She is a beautiful strong-willed woman, who manages to be both persuasive and capable of ruling with a firm hand over her five ‘men’. Indeed, Ewald can be considered a very lucky husband! Anja is well known for her unrivalled raspberry juice.

Ewald’s mother, Erna has spent her whole life running the Edelweiss Hotel, yet she is tireless in giving help whenever it is needed. Her greatest joy is represented by her grandchildren! She shakes her head at Jack’s jokes, but eventually she enjoys them all the time.

The eldest son, Manuel, represents the new generation in the management of the Saltner Edelweiss hotel. His training took place with the chef Thomas Mayr of the Parkhotel Laurin in Bolzano. In following his father’s footsteps, luckily, he represents the future. Hopefully he can become a creative chef as well as a clever manager, as he does not lack either talent or good will.

The second-born son to Ewald and Anja, Kevin is fond of soccer and a good player too, a specialist in scoring goals| Moreover, he enjoys going to school and studying like nobody else, even if quite a few people cannot believe this is true! Anyway, he is a good-hearted child, a clever horse rider and stable-boy.

Robin was born on February 27 2006, a Shrove Tuesday; might this condition his future? Anyway, he started with a short period of fast, but soon he changed his mind and is now having regular rhythms of sleeping and food-taking, which is good especially for Ewald and Anja… Maybe this also depends on the gorgeous cot, which Granddad Sepp made for him.

Der kleinste der Familie Höller ist unser Max, liebevoll „Maxi“ oder auch „Minimi“ von uns genannt. Am 20. August 2007, im Sternzeichen des Löwen geboren, trägt er tatsächlich „Löwenkräfte „ in sich. Wenn Ihm etwas nicht passt, kann er seine „Krallen“ ausfahren. Aber meistens schnurrt er zufrieden wie ein Mitzekatze!

As everybody says, Jack is really a funny chap. He is unrivalled in entertaining people with humour and wit in different languages, and as a waiter he manages to trot along in a brisk pace and be in control of any situation. Sometimes he leaves you dumbfounded on account of his wide knowledge: in fact, in his free time, instead of resting, he devotes himself to reading historical, political and general culture essays. Some of our customers keep visiting us only in order to meet Jack.

Manuela ist unsere Reitlehrerin. Mit viel Herz und Geduld kümmert sie sich um Ross und Reiter. Besonders beliebt ist sie bei den Kindern, da ihre Reitstunden mit Spiel, Spass und ganz viel Lachen verbunden sind.

Unser Pizzabäcker Ahmed ist erst kurz in unserem Team, dennoch hat er sich schon sehr gut bei uns eingelebt! Mit viel Geduld und Herzlichkeit weiht er unsere kleinen und großen Gäste in die Kunst des Pizzabackens, beim wöchentlichen Pizzakurs, ein. Und natürlich sind die vielen wunderbar schmackhaften Pizzen nicht zu vergessen, die er mit viel Liebe und Hingebung backt!

This mare is among the best skilled of our horses, born on March 13 in Chiusi. She too crossed the Alps in May 2006 taking on her back the excursionist Guido Seyerle, on Goethe’s footsteps. She is meek and mild and, like all our horses, she manages to keep an easy pace even in winter.

Though of Haflinger breed, he is black, as his name suggests; his father, Charly, was a Russian horse of Arab breed. Graceful, calm and strong, he pulls the carriage together with Aaron, and in 2006 he took part in the crossing the Alps experience. Black is very popular on the Salto Plateau and has been a TV guest in more than one occasion (ZDF, ARD, RAI).

Aaron is a gelding Haflinger, speedy in galloping and of a strong temper. Together with Black, in May 2006 he crossed the Alps pulling the carriage.

Das ist Luna, die Tochter von Ulli. Der Name Luna kommt aus dem Italienischen und heißt Mond. Ihren hübschen Namen trägt Sie nicht von ungefähr, ist sie doch in einer Vollmondnacht zur Welt gekommen. Sicher trägt sie kleine und große Gäste ins Gelände, aber auch auf dem Reitplatz macht Sie eine gute Figur!

Burli ist einer der vielen „Perlen“ in unserem Stall. Seine Geduld und seine Herzlichkeit zu den Menschen lässt er uns immer wieder spüren. Er wird als Longenpferd beim Unterricht eingesetzt, ist aber auch zum Ausreiten für jeden Reiter ideal.

Queen ist die Oma in unseren Stall. Mit Ihren 20 Jahren trägt sie Ihre Reiter noch immer zuverlässlig und hat auch Spaß daran. In Ihren jungen Jahren war Queen ein Rennpferd mit viel Temperament - nun ist sie schon etwas ruhiger und genießt Ihren Lebensabend bei uns am Reitergasthof Saltner Edelweiss.

Fritz ist unser "Herzensbrecher" im Stall, wer einmal auf ihn geritten ist möchte ihn am Liebsten mit nach Hause nehmen.

Lussy ist das Fohlen von Fuchsele, gekreuzt mit einem Araber-Hengst. Lussy ist zur Zeit noch in der Ausbildung, da sie erst im Mai 2010 geboren wurde.

Marina ist unsere liebe "Pony-Mama". Für Kinder ist sie ideal zum Reiten oder aber auch einfach nur zum Spazieren gehen.

Vasco ist unser Labrador. Er ist sehr verspielt, rennt gern herum und genießt in vollen Zügen seine Freiheit.

Von wegen dumme Ziege! Die beiden, Wilma und Berta, lieben es von allen gestreichelt und kulinarisch verwöhnt zu werden.
